About Photovoltaic Solar power
Solar power is the harnessing of the sun’s energy and converting it into usable energy either through the use of direct sunlight known as Photovoltaics.
There are three main components to a Photovoltaic solar energy system
SOLAR PANELS
The Solar panels work with photovoltaic cells which convert direct sunlight into DC electricity, this electricity is then sent to the inverter.
INVERTER
The inverter is a critical part of your solar system and you will need to keep in mind what your future goals are when it comes to your selection, there are three types of inverters available Grid-tied, Hybrid, and Off-grid each type has its pro’s and con’s and is designed for a specific use. The solar experts will be happy to explain the in’s and out’s of each inverter and help you select the inverter that is right for your system. Remember the inverter is the engine of the solar system and you want the best inverter for the job.
BATTERIES / STORAGE
The batteries are only installed in Hybrid or Off-grid systems not in grid-tie solar systems. When you are talking batteries it is again crucial to take into account what your specific needs are and what loads you intend running on the system. Lithium-ion batteries are the best batteries on the market

Savings savings savings, save money, save the earth you win all the way
A short return on investment three to four years and high future earnings potential with an expected lifetime of twenty-five or more years, a five KW solar system can potentially earn more than One million four hundred thousand rands.
Very low maintenance costs the solar panels need to be washed every six months, the inverter will need a few software upgrades and the lithium-ion batteries are maintenance-free. That’s it.
Guaranteed performance of the solar panels for twenty-five years that’s a better warranty then your motor vehicle has.
Go green save the earth, do the right thing this is about the future of all of us.

What a great installation, full hybrid 8kw Sunsynk inverter, 9.6kwh Shoto lithium-ion battery and 4.8kw of Solar panels on the roof, and a Geyserwise solar panel retrofit kit, this family is now saving money on electricity and ready for load shedding or power outages,
Scarborough
GOODWE 4.6 kw inverter full hybrid 5.12 BYD Lithium-ion battery and 3.7 kw of JINKO optimized solar panels on the roof, the client had already installed two solar geysers one for warm water and one for central heating in the home, this home was designed and built for renewable energy and is extremely efficient, in the first six months after our installation the owner spent R200 on electricity.
Paarl
Soltaro all in one 5kw inverter with 5kwh HV battery which we later upgraded to 10KWH, the owner has 4.8 kw of Solar power on his roof, a beautiful machine for the stylish home.

Welcome to BlueNova – The home of high performance ultra-reliable energy storage solutions. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFeYPO4) batteries have now become the leading technology in energy storage for the modern world. With transfer efficiencies of more than 96% @C2 charge and discharge rates (or 98% @C10), they deliver 10 times higher turn-around efficiencies than leading lead acid batteries. This feature implies major savings in the necessary size of the solar system required to charge the batteries.
LiFeYPO4 batteries are capable of delivering up to 90% of their charge for more than 4000 times. This is achieved in ambient temperatures of more than 35°C without any performance degradation. The batteries are perfectly suited for operation in warm African conditions.
LiFeYPO4 batteries have more than 4 times the energy density than lead acid equivalents. This has great advantages for applications where light-weight energy storage is a requirement. Applications such as 4×4 vehicles, yachts and even apartment buildings benefit greatly from these light-weight batteries. No gassing, no ventilation.
Experience the benefits of a new generation of energy storage solutions. At Blue Nova we offer batteries for a wide range of applications. From 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V up to 800V. Storage capacity ranges from 1 kWh for small residential applications to 1080 kWh for industrial applications.

FAQ’s
FAQ’s
What type of Solar system do I need?
This depends on what your specific needs are, for most residential homes we would recommend a Hybrid Solar system, this type of system uses solar power during the day and has a limited battery supply for limited loads to be used at night or during load-shedding. We recommend a professional design based on your needs and usesPanelsas provided by The Solar Experts.
What size solar system do I need
This answer varies according to the needs of each person, but generally, most homes would manage with a 3 to 5 KWh system which is 12 panels, a 5 kW inverter, and sufficient batteries to meet the requirements.
Can I upgrade my Solar system
Yes you can10-year however5-year careful attention needs to be paid to the type of inverter you choose, make sure you have allowed for the future upgrades you would like to achieve otherwise you will need to change the inverter and this can be costly. Please contact The Solar Experts for any advice.
How much does a Solar System cost
Again this varies from each client but for your average residential home a solar system with batteries for the backup will cost in the region of R150000-00
What are the warranties on the products
Warranties vary from manufacturer to manufacturer The Solar experts only uses reliable products with proven support from the manufacturer and will provide the warranties applicable for each project and make sure they are correctly installed to avoid any disputes. Generally the solar Panels have a manufacturing warranty of 10 to 12 years and a performance warranty of 25 years, the inverter has a 2 to 5-year warranty which is extendable to 10 years and lithium-ion batteries have a 10-year warranty.
The Solar Experts have a 2-year warranty on all workmanship.
How long will it take to install my solar system?
From confirmation of the project it takes approximately 10 working days to order and receive the materials on-site, installation takes approximately 3 working days depending on the conditions on the site.
Why do I need to pay a 70% deposit?
The deposit covers the cost of materials that need to be ordered and installed, the 2-year panels, inverter and batteries will be delivered directly to the site from the manufacturers unless arranged otherwise with The Solar Experts.
